The Whiskey Fountain Pen
Turned from reclaimed Kentucky bourbon barrels — white oak, charred from the inside — each pen carries the history of what it held. The maker says that when he turns them in the shop, the fragrance of bourbon fills the air. A piece of the char is preserved in every pen. No two are alike.
Paired with solid brass hardware and finished with a Jowo #5 nib in fine or medium. The cap screws onto the barrel and includes a clip — details that keep the pen from wandering.
Comes ready to write: an ink cartridge is included for those just starting out, alongside a reusable converter for those who prefer their own inks.
Made in America by Jim Cantrell and Ryan Jones — grandfather and grandson — in an old barn woodshed on the outskirts of Louisville, Kentucky.
Onion skin paper takes fountain pens beautifully. This one is a natural companion to any journal in the collection.
