Onion skin paper is thin and slightly translucent, with a durability that outlasts expectations. It has been in use for centuries. With time and writing, the pages develop a gentle cockled finish — a quality that feels less like wear and more like weathering. The journal begins to look like it has lived. 

Inside each journal is 320 pages of blank onion skin. A reversible insert provides a line guide on one side, dot grid on the other — present when you want it, removable when you don't. The linen cover opens flat and stays there. Smyth-sewn binding. Matching ribbon marker. 

Made in America by a third-generation bookmaker.
Compatible with fountain pens, dip pens, and most media. The paper receives ink without bleed.

The OSJ is A•M•A•Z•I•N•G!! I love the sound of the pages. It’s the best journal I’ve ever owned! Y’all did a great job making this beautiful book!

The best journal in which I have ever written / drawn. I have previously only used Leuchtturnm1917 120gsm , which now feels like I'm writing on a brown paper grocery bag. This is a delicious fountain pen writing experience. Then there's the crinkling sounds. It's a feast for the senses, not just for the eyes. I love the translucence. I love the sugar-ice-skating feel of writing. I look forward to drawing / writing in it daily.

The book is bound with so much care, the pagesopen up all the way and the fine paper is not being stressed by the bingind! I love wrting on it, it absorbes ink really well

Tried writing in other journals….THIS ONIONSKIN did the trick. I thoroughly enjoy going to its pages to journal. The mailed presentation was classy! The written thoughts that accompanied the journal are now affixed to the beginning pages.

I wish I had known about these notebooks sooner, they're incredible! I've been using this journal for pen ink swatches and the inks really pop on the pages, and I really enjoy the sound the pages make when being flipped. I need more of these but in different sizes.

I absolutely adore my red onion skin journal. It is so well crafted and I paint a lot with watercolors in it with no tearing or the paint seeping through to the next page. I highly recommend everything this company makes.

Love this onion skin journal!

I love the feel and beauty of the Onion Skin journals. I had a hard time creating in it at first because I was afraid to mess up. Once I started I love the effect of seeing the prior page or the page behind. It’s just special. I have 2 of these journals and I’ll be buying more once I’m ready and finished. You won’t regret buying one. The feel and sound of the pages are a delight!

This is my fifth or six OSJ and as always, the journal is well made, beautiful (a gorgeous bright red) and the translucent crinkly paper is a joy to write on with my fountain pens. It is worth the price for a rare kind of journaling experience.

Journal is beautiful and I can't wait to use it but the shipping was terribly slow and my journal sat at label created for shipping for over a week. I ordered it on the fourth of april and finally received it on the 20th. Sadly im not sure if would order again.
